The Life I’m Actually Trying to Build

The Life I’m Actually Trying to Build

Does anyone else want to get out of the rat race of simply existing to pay into a financial system that gives so little back?

Sometimes I just want to give my inner child more freedom to roam.

Let her revel in the magic of her colourful beads, their light reflecting tiny planets that hold her desires, ideas and whispered tales from her ancestors.

Let her bask in the warmth of her grandmother’s love, where certain words in patois glow because they defiantly refuse to be translated properly.

Let her leave glitter behind whenever she stops shrinking, a reminder that the magic was always there.

I want my imagination, creativity, attention and time to collide inside a kaleidoscope, and every time the light hits differently, a new picture appears.

Maybe that is the life I’m actually trying to build
