The Power of Colour

 

Colour, for me, has always been personal. It’s how I show up for myself - boldly, authentically, and with intention.

Being of Jamaican and Grenadian descent taught me that colour isn’t just something you wear, it’s a language of joy, survival, and being seen.

There was a time I tried to blend in, to keep it neutral and quiet so I wouldn’t draw attention. But colour changed that. 

Now, it’s my way of saying I’m here - even on the days I don’t feel ready to be. Wearing and creating with colour helps me feel visible in a world that often prefers muted tones.

Sometimes bold colour makes people uncomfortable - it reflects back what they’re hiding from.

But I’ve learned that if my brightness triggers someone else, it means I’m finally standing in my truth. Colour makes me happy.

It reminds me that I don’t have to shrink to be accepted - that joy, vibrancy, and self-expression are my birthrights.

So when you see my work, know this: every pattern, every shade, is a small act of defiance and celebration. It’s me choosing to live in full colour - and inviting you to do the same.

Colour is my prayer, pattern is my poetry, and design is my way of healing the world - one shade at a time.
