Welcome to Nova Notes: The Manifesto

Welcome to Nova Notes: Building in Colour

This isn't just a blog. It's a space where Black women don't have to shrink.

Hi, I'm Naomi, the founder behind Oriah Nova, a creative wellness brand for those who want their inner work reflected outward. Who understand that what you surround yourself with shapes who you become.

This is not fast fashion. This is not beige wellness. This is not disposable inspiration.

This is intentional creation for people becoming themselves: fully, visibly, and unapologetically.

What's in a Name?

Before Oriah Nova was a brand, it was a revelation at 3am (because isn't that when all breakthroughs happen?).

Oriah embodies truth, courage, and awakening through self-expression.
Nova symbolises rebirth, transformation, and creative explosion.Together? A perfect reflection of my brand's purpose: to ignite colour, confidence, and authenticity.

Oriah Nova is not about selling objects. It's about equipping transformation.

Why Nova Notes Exists

Because I was tired.
Tired of wellness spaces that weren't built for us.

Tired of "empowerment" content that felt like it was written for someone else.
Tired of having to translate, code-switch, and shrink myself to fit into rooms that were never designed with Black women in mind.

So I built my own room. And I'm inviting you in.

Nova Notes will explore:

- Empowerment that's rooted in our reality, not aspirational Instagram captions
- Journaling as a tool for visibility, not just productivity
- Shadow work that honours where we've been and where we're going
- Building boldly as a Black female entrepreneur in a system that wasn't built for us
- Real stories. Practical frameworks and permission to be seen.

What You Can Expect

I'm publishing weekly:
TUESDAY: Building Nova
The founder chronicles. The messy middle. The 2am breakthroughs and the manufacturing nightmares. I'm building Oriah Nova in public - gold hardware delays, funding gaps, and all.

THURSDAY: When inspiration strikes.          Nova Wisdom. Essays on empowerment, identity, visibility, and the inner work that makes the outer glow possible. This is where we talk about the things that don't fit in Instagram captions.

Who This Is For

This is for you if:
- You're building something (a business, a dream, a new version of yourself) and refusing to play small
- You're tired of "neutral" spaces that were never neutral - they just weren't designed for you
- You want your inner work to show up in what you create, wear, and surround yourself with
- You believe that aesthetics are political and that choosing bold colours is an act of resistance
-You're done shrinking

This is for the woman who knows that journaling isn't just self-care, it's self-advocacy.

This is for the entrepreneur who's spinning creativity into currency like a modern-day Rapunzel, turning thin air into gold.

This is for the Black woman who's rebuilding the system in colour.

What Nova Notes Is NOT

This isn't:
A "5 Tips for Productivity" listicle factory
Toxic positivity wrapped in pastel gradients
Generic advice that could apply to anyone, anywhere
A highlight reel of perfect moments

This is real. Messy. Honest. Colourful.
If you're looking for beige, you're in the wrong place.

The Invitation

Welcome to Nova Notes - where visibility isn't vanity, it's survival.
Where we honour the complexity of being Black women building in spaces that weren't made for us.
Where we talk about shadow work, generational wealth, rose gold hardware, and the cost of choosing visibility.

Where "too much" is exactly right.

This is the space I wish existed. So I'm creating it. For me. For you. For all of us building with one hand. Show up fully. Be seen unapologetically.
Let's build something bold.
